Chapter 2. Touring The Cubase Sx 2 Inter... > The Project Window Track Inspector

The Project Window Track Inspector

The Track inspector is one of the most powerful features in Cubase SX 2. The Track inspector shows practically every parameter for a single track in a project, and it's where you select your input and output settings for each track. The track that is shown in the Track inspector window is determined by the track that is selected in the track list, and parameters vary depending on whether an audio track or a MIDI track is selected.

The Track inspector (Figure 2.7) shows many of the important audio track settings available in other menus and windows, as well as some settings available only in the Track inspector. The main tab of the Track inspector provides buttons for the most common settings, such as solo, mute, record-enable, pan, and hardware routing. If one of the other tabs is selected, the inspector displays a completely different set of parameters for the same track. For example, if the Channel tab is selected (Figure 2.8), the full channel strip from the Mixer window is displayed. Other tabs show insert effects, send effects, and EQ settings for the track.
