Chapter 15. Rewire And Cubase > Tempo and ReWire

Tempo and ReWire

There are two ways to set tempo in Cubase. One is to simply type a setting for the project on the Transport bar. The other way is to use the tempo track in Cubase, which is turned on and off using the Master button on the Cubase Transport bar. The latter is the better way to go when you're working with ReWire applications. (The tempo track was discussed in Chapter 3, “Starting a Project.”)

If you are using a tempo track, you should make all tempo changes for your project in Cubase. If you make changes in tempo with a ReWire slave application, it might turn off the tempo track and reset the tempo in Cubase. The following example uses the tempo track to change the tempo for both Reason and Cubase.
