Chapter 4. Recording Audio > Creating Multiple Audio Tracks

Creating Multiple Audio Tracks

Sometimes, you'll need multiple tracks. For example, you may want to transfer an eight-track live recording for mixing, or you may be setting up to record a full rock band with 16 or more tracks for each take. In these situations, it's much easier and faster to add more than one track at a time.

To create more than one audio track

1.
Right-click (Windows) or Control-click (Mac OS) the track list in the Project window.

2.
From the menu that opens, choose Add Multiple Tracks (Figure 4.4).

3.
When the Add Multiple Tracks dialog box opens, select Audio on the Track, which opens a submenu. Then choose Mono or Stereo on the configuration menu and specify the number of tracks you want to create in the Count field.

The settings in Figure 4.5 will create eight mono audio tracks.

4.
Click OK.

The tracks are added to the project.
