Panning Tracks in Surround

Once you've routed a mono or stereo track to a surround output, you'll need to be able to place it in the surround field. Naturally, the familiar stereo-style pan slider in the Cubase mixer isn't going to do the job. Figure 13.11 shows two audio channels: one routed to a stereo output, and one to a 5.1 output. Note that the pan controls for each track are different; the surround track has a small square with a dot inside instead of the pan slider.
