Basic MIDI Mixing

As mentioned previously, MIDI mixing controls in Cubase are very similar to audio mixing controls. This means that many of your audio mixing skills will translate easily to MIDI.

For example, you control both pan and volume for MIDI channels precisely the same way you do for audio channels. Figure 12.1 shows a MIDI channel with the fader pulled down a bit and the track panned to the right in the stereo field. Keep in mind, though, that what the channel fader really does here is proportionally decrease the velocity of the MIDI notes, and the pan control sends a CC message to the MIDI device.
