Narrow vs. Wide Channels

It's already been noted that the number of mixer channels can increase dramatically as a track grows. The more tracks you have in a project, the harder it gets to see most or all of your mix at once. The Cubase mixer gives you the option of seeing more detail for fewer tracks, or seeing less detail and many more tracks. You make your choice by making a channel narrow or wide.

Figure 11.7 shows two channels with the extended mixer displayed for both. The channel on the right is wide and shows the EQ settings for that channel; the channel on the left is narrow and shows less. You can switch between the narrow and wide views for each channel by clicking the small opposing arrows above each channel (Figure 11.8).
