Chapter 11. Mixing Audio > Configuring an FX Channel

Configuring an FX Channel

Just as when you use audio, ReWire, and VST instrument channels, you have to create a new FX channel for each effects send you want to use. For example, suppose that you want to create a send effect that has a delay routed through a flanger. The following task shows you what to do.

To create and configure an FX channel

1.
From the Project menu, select Add Track > FX Channel (Figure 11.37). You can also create FX channels using the contextual menu in the Project window.

2.
Find the newly created FX channel in the mixer. FX channels appear pink in the Cubase mixer.

3.
Open the extended mixer menu for the FX channel and select Inserts to display inserts in the extended view (Figure 11.38).

4.
Add any effects you want to the insert slots.

Figure 11.39 shows an FX channel (renamed DelayFlange) with a delay plug-in and a flanger plug-in.
