Workarounds for Timing Offset

Rendering a track sometimes produces an offset in timing within the exported file. If the timing on your rendered track seems a bit off, one possible cause is that plug-in latency may not be correctly factored in. In addition, some people report that certain combinations of ASIO cards and computer hardware generate this problem.

Figure 18.10 shows a timing offset. The Range Selection tool is highlighting about 25 milliseconds of silence incorrectly inserted into the rendered file, which is on the bottom. The rise in each waveform should happen at the same time. There are two primary ways to work around this problem:
