Creating a RealAudio Mix—PC Only

Another common Web-centric audio format is RealAudio. This format was created by RealNetworks (www.real.com), and the files have the extension .rm. RealAudio files are attractive primarily because they are very small and thus are easy to stream over a variety of types of network connections. Generally, they are not great-sounding files, so you may not want to choose RealAudio files if you are after the highest fidelity.

You can use Cubase to create RealAudio G2 files (Figure 18.31). After you've set the mix, locator, and export parameters, you can choose between two sets of options for creating RealAudio files:
