Chapter 10. Editing MIDI > Deleting, Moving, and Copying CC Messages

Deleting, Moving, and Copying CC Messages

You can move CC data freely within a project or within a part. You can delete CC events with the Eraser tool, select them with the Arrow tool, and move them with the standard Cut, Copy, and Paste commands. The following task describes how to perform one of the more complex operations: copying a triangle curve to a new location.

To copy CC data in a Controller lane

1.
Using the Arrow tool, draw a box around the CC messages that you want to copy (Figure 10.45).

2.
Turn on Snap.

Snap can be on or off, but turning Snap on makes it easier to copy CC data to a new measure or beat.

3.
Hold down Alt (Windows) or Option (Mac OS) and click the selected CC data.

4.
Drag the CC data to the new location.

An outline shows you where the data is being moved (Figure 10.46).

5.
Release the mouse when the copy is where you want it.

The CC data is copied to the new location in the Controller lane, and the original CC data remains in its original location (Figure 10.47).
