Deleting Automation Breakpoints

If you examine the results of the previous task, you can see one of the pitfalls of writing automation manually. You can see in Figure 16.22 that the ramp-up in volume probably isn't going to sound right with the sudden drop before it starts and the drop when it ends. Automation breakpoints indicate a change in direction or a change in value. Figure 16.22 has two breakpoints that need to be deleted for the automation to produce the desired sonic results.

To delete automation breakpoints

1.
Using the toolbar (Figure 16.23) or the contextual menu (right-click Windows, Control-click Mac OS), select the Eraser tool.

Click the breakpoint you want to delete to remove it (Figure 16.24).
