Dynamics

Dynamic effects alter the level, or volume, of audio and can perform all manner of tasks. For instance, they can perform compression to reduce the dynamic range of audio, perform expansion to increase the dynamic range of audio, and set limits to establish the absolute maximum level for a signal. Cubase includes plug-ins that can accomplish all of these tasks and a good many more. The main plug-in covered here is the Dynamics plug-in (Figure 14.24).
