Chapter 9. Advanced Audio Editing > Processing an Event or Part

Processing an Event or Part

Cubase supports two primary ways of processing audio. You can use processes included within Cubase such as noise gating, time stretching, and envelope modification, or you can apply third-party VST (Windows and Mac OS) and DirectX (Windows only) audio plug-ins to a selection, event, or part.

There isn't room here to cover all of the Cubase processes and options (much less all of the VST and DX plug-ins). We'll explore a few examples of the more important processes, but you should take some time to experiment with the audio processes bundled with Cubase.
