Adjusting a Range Selection

The range stays selected only when the Range Selection tool is active. Once you click the Zoom tool, the range selection is gone. If you make a range selection and decide that it is not what you want, you have to start over again. In addition, you may need a very exact range that is also fairly long, making it nearly impossible to select without the use of different zoom levels. The only way to make an exacting change in a selected range is to zoom using the ruler and cursor. The following task shows you a couple of navigational shortcuts you can use to select with precision the single drum beat selected in Figure 9.9.
