Chapter 9. Advanced Audio Editing > Zooming in the Sample Editor

Zooming in the Sample Editor

The Sample editor has a Zoom tool that works just like the Zoom tool in the Project window. You can also click the ruler and drag vertically to zoom in or out and then navigate in your sample with more precision by using the thumbnail display at the top of the Sample editor's window.

To select a view in the waveform display

1.
Position the pointer over the top half of the thumbnail display at the top of the Sample editor.

Regardless of the tool that you've selected, the pointer will be an arrow (Figure 9.43).

Figure 9.43. When positioned over the top half of the thumbnail display, the pointer will be an arrow.

2.
Drag over the section of the audio that you want to see in detail in the waveform display (Figure 9.44).

Figure 9.44. Drag over the part of the event that you want to see in the waveform display.

After you release the mouse, just that section will be visible in the waveform display (Figure 9.45).
