Chapter 9. Advanced Audio Editing > Pitch Shifting with an Envelope

Pitch Shifting with an Envelope

Cubase has a large number of options available for pitch shifting; we will cover only a few of them here. One pitch-shifting option worth noting is the envelope, which you can use as a guide to change the amount of pitch shifting over time.

Envelopes are commonly used in synthesizers to create curves to control parameters automatically, and if you understand a synth envelope, you'll have no trouble using the Cubase pitch-shifting envelope. If you are not familiar with synthesizers, just remember that the envelopes for pitch shifting let you create a smooth curve that changes the amount of pitch shifting over time.
