The MIDI Event List

The MIDI Event list displays every last bit of MIDI data for a selected region or track, letting you view and edit nearly any MIDI event in a session. Although it may not be the easiest or most intuitive MIDI feature, it can’t be beat for precision and control.

For our example, let’s insert a program change message at a particular point in a song to change the drum loop from mono under the verse to stereo for the chorus. Our sampler is set so that patch 10 has a kit mixed to mono, while patch 11 is the same kit mixed to stereo. You can use the Event list to change the patch in the sampler at precisely the right time.
