Section E.2. Resource and Decoder APIs

E.2. Resource and Decoder APIs

Examples in this section show how the Resource and Decoder APIs can be used to monitor resources and adapt to time varying resource conditions. Initially, an MPEGlet using both the Resource and Decoder APIs is presented. In the next two sections examples of event handlers are presented.

Here the MPEGlet RM_Example obtains a handle to the ResourceManager through the MpegjTerminal. Two event handlers, rendererEH and decoderEH, are defined for handling renderer and decoder events. The MPEGlet obtains a handler to the Renderer and registers the rendererEH. The MPDecoder object associated with the node m_node is obtained. The defined event handler decoderEH is registered with the MPDecoder object to handle the events that occur in the associated decoder. This example also shows how to stop and restart the decoder. Further, it shows how to replace the obtained MPDecoder with another decoder object of the same type.
