Lesson 2. Use the Surface Editor

What You’ll Do

In this lesson, you’ll learn how to use the Surface Editor to manage object surfaces.

The purpose of the Change Surface dialog box is to let you name and set the initial color for the selected polygons, but if you need to create advanced surfaces, use the Surface Editor, shown in Figure 6.5. To open the Surface Editor, click the Surface Editor button in the toolbox or press F5. All surface names you applied in the Change Surface dialog box are listed in the left pane of the Surface Editor. If you select a surface name and change its properties, the polygons that have that surface are automatically updated. The Surface Editor dialog box is common between the Modeler and the Layout interfaces.
