Chapter 12. Rendering the Scene > Work with Hypervoxels

Lesson 3. Work with Hypervoxels

What You’ll Do

In this lesson, you’ll learn how to use HyperVoxels to create effects such as fire, smoke, and clouds.

HyperVoxels provide a way to create gaseous effects such as fire, smoke, clouds, and dust. This is accomplished by rendering a volume that has a particular texture applied to it. You can apply HyperVoxels to the surface of a designated volume, as an actual three-dimensional volume or as a simple two-dimensional sprite. HyperVoxels are available as a volumetric plug-in in the Volumetrics panel of the Effects dialog box. To open this panel, use the Window, Volumetrics and Fog Options menu command.
