  • Background image— A picture or map that can be viewed as a backdrop to any viewport. It is not part of the rendering, but only a template to be used as a modeling guide.

  • Editable polygon— An editable polygon has faces with four sides compared to the triangular faces of a mesh object. There are also new tools available when modifying editable polygon objects.

  • Box modeling— A term used to describe a modeling technique in which you start with a primitive object, such as a box, and add edges and polygons to create more complex objects.

  • Renderable spline— 2D shapes can have attributes set that give them 3D thickness in the scene.
