Key Terms

  • Rigid body— In 3ds max 6, rigid body objects are defined as having no surface deformation during collisions.

  • Cloth— Cloth is an open-edged mesh with a special modifier that mimics soft, flexible surfaces deformed by simulated natural events or collisions with other objects.

  • Gravity— Simulated gravity exists by default for all scenes in which reactor collision solutions are calculated.

  • Wind— A force used in reactor calculations to simulate wind.

  • Snapshot— A tool in 3ds max that creates copies of animated objects, including deformed objects, frozen in time.
