Chapter 16. Graph Editors > In This Chapter

In This Chapter

In this chapter, you learn to use graph editors, the Dope Sheet, and the Curve Editor in 3ds max 6 to fine-tune animations and to apply ease curves to influence existing animation:

  • Dope Sheet— This graph editor presents the animation keys in a spreadsheet-like format, allowing you a broad view of animation relationships that can then be edited.

  • Curve Editor— The Curve Editor displays animation with function curves shown on a graph to make editing easier to visualize.

  • Ease curves— These function curves are superimposed on top of existing animation to fine-tune the motion. The ease curves can easily be removed, without affecting the underlying animation, if the changes are not what you want.
