Emission

In the file 14baseScene.ma, there is a stripped-down version of the set from the Parking Spot project. In the animation, water from a hydrant bursts out and sprays the car. This section focuses on how the water is emitted from the hydrant.

The first step in creating the spray is to emit particles into the scene. To simulate the emission, you can use a directional emitter with a spread of .5 and rename it waterEmitter. The emitter should be placed inside the fire hydrant (see Figure 14.1).
