First Steps: Planning Your Animation

The process of planning your animation can be summarized in four steps. First, you define your expectations and record them. Next, you research the motion you will animate. Third, you add context to the motion. Finally, you create a composite performance, bringing the best of your ideas into a single performance. With this guide, we can proceed.

Character animation is hard. At least, it is not as easy as is widely believed. It requires patience, attention to detail, and vast amounts of energy. You must also know your tools very well so that you can spend your energy telling your story well.
