Chapter 5. LightWave 7 Graph Editor > Working with the Graph Editor

Working with the Graph Editor

Navigating through the Graph Editor is straightforward. You select the channels you want to edit from the Scene list and add them to the Curve Bin. From the Curve Bin, you select the desired channels and then edit their curves in the Curve Window, the main area of the Graph Editor. Editing curves is one of the primary functions of the Graph Editor. Think of your workflow from bottom left, to top left, to top right, to bottom right to help understand the flow of editing curves.

Editing Curves

The Graph Editor is used to edit curves. Editable curves are values that you’ve created in Layout to control lights, objects, cameras, and other animatable Layout attributes, such as textures or intensities. The preceding section talked about the Scene Display area and the Curve Bin. The Curve Window is discussed in this section.
