Adding Atmospheres

When you create scenes in LightWave, whether they consist of logos, characters, or architecture, you can create an atmosphere for added value. Atmospheres in LightWave can be created through various methods, such as backdrops, fog, or LightWave’s SkyTracer plug-in, to name a few. These next sections introduce you to the different types of atmospheres you can create in LightWave.

Backdrops

The Backdrop panel in LightWave is where you can set up background and gradient colors or add environmental shaders. Setting a backdrop creates an infinite world inside Layout. By default, the backdrop color is set to black, as you can see in Figure 7.21.
