Chapter 20. Advanced Particle Animation > Particles for Animation Control

Particles for Animation Control

The particle system in LightWave, especially with visible Sprite mode in Layout, is fantastic. You have great possibilities in front of you for creating smoke, dust, sparks, and more. But did you know that the capabilities of the particle engine go much deeper, giving you the means of animating objects? Taking the particle animation system to the next level means using its collision properties and using the FX_Linker tool to replace particles with objects. Particles not only can interact with each other and be controlled by things like wind and gravity, but they also can be used for object animation.
