Motion Blur

Motion blur is an effect that simulates what happens when you film a moving object and the camera’s shutter speed is not fast enough to freeze the action. Adding the motion blur effect can enhance the realism of an animation. It also helps smooth the strobe effect that occurs when an animated object travels across the screen quickly.

A new type of motion blur has been added to 3ds max 4, bringing the total number of motion blur effects to four. These are Image Motion Blur, Scene Motion Blur, Object Motion Blur, and the new one, Multi-Pass Motion Blur.
