Summary

Congratulations. Building a complete character isn’t for the timid 3D modeler. As you know, there are many ways to model. This chapter offers some insight into the details of Bezier patch modeling. The more you play with the tools, the more you become familiar with the workflow and idiosyncrasies that are involved.

If you want to do more tweaking, make a duplicate of the character, collapse the objects into editable patches, and tweak directly on the patch level. You lose control over the Bezier splines, but you also gain direct control of the patch surface, where you can do extrudes, bevels, and local subdivision (which most often requires binding subdivided patches to neighboring patches).
