Enhanced Track Bar

The mini-track bar located below the time slider has been significantly enhanced. Keyframes are now displayed as colored rectangles, while the current keyframe indicator appears as a semi-transparent overlaid blue rectangle. Note that this transparency is available only under Windows 2000.

The user also now can adjust the start frame and end frame of a sequence without having to go into the Time Configuration window. Holding down the Alt and Ctrl keys while clicking and dragging in the timeline results in different functions, depending on the mouse button used. For instance, Ctrl+Alt+left mouse button drag lets the user change the start frame, while Ctrl+Alt+right mouse button drag changes the end frame. Ctrl+Alt+middle mouse button drag pans the timeline. This is very useful for working quickly with small chunks of long animation. For example, a user can have a 400-frame animation but can set the start frame to 0 and the end frame to 20, effectively creating a 20-frame window view of the larger animation. Then by using the Alt+Ctrl+middle mouse button drag capability, the animator can easily pan this window and not have to deal with the clutter of keyframes from the entire animation.
