Part: VII Advanced Techniques: Scripting > Calibrating Your Monitor

Calibrating Your Monitor

Although calibration is not an imperative issue for Web designers, it can assist designers in certain work circumstances to achieve better results. Because computer monitors vary greatly in their range of display, achieving consistency within programs and from one monitor to another can be difficult. Calibrating the monitor first can help ensure that you produce expected results. Designers who might want to consider calibration will be working in the following environments:

  • A single designer working on multiple computers.

  • A number of designers in the same shop working on the same projects but on different computers.

  • Designers working together at a distance, using the Internet to transfer or preview files for accuracy.
