Hour 16. Designing Animations > Cell-Based Sequential Animation

Cell-Based Sequential Animation

This exercise demonstrates an old-fashioned animation methodology used in the context of LiveMotion. Before computers took the animation world by storm, animations were crafted by drawing individual object cells or by setting up three-dimensional objects and then shooting film of individual cells and objects to composite them into a single animation.

Cell-based animation is still in use today, although often the hand-drawn cells are imported into computer software and sequenced there. You can do this in LiveMotion. It's one way to bring a more organic, less digitized look to your animations.
