Working with Polygons

People are like polygons—they're really many sided. People have a personal side, a professional side, a formal side, and a relaxed side. Some have more sides than others! This diversity can make for interesting personalities indeed.

Technically, a polygon is a closed figure made up of line segments that join together. This means that polygons have multiple sides, are made up of straight lines, and join at the termination of the line segments (this joining is known as the vertex). No intersecting lines can be between the segments (see Figure 1.21).
