Hour 1. Creating Simple Objects > Exploring Objects in LiveMotion

Exploring Objects in LiveMotion

From a technical point of view, LiveMotion objects are the plotted points of binary information that create a digital image. Objects, in the context of LiveMotion, can be of three types: geometric, typographic, and image. Let's take a closer look:

  • Geometric objects— A geometric object is any object created using the drawing tools in LiveMotion. In this hour, you'll focus on working with geometric objects (see Figure 1.1).

Figure 1.1. Basic geometric objects drawn using LiveMotion.

  • Image objects— Objects in this category are either imported images or a combination of objects created with LiveMotion's Combine tools (see Figure 1.2). Image objects are raster objects (see Appendix C, “About Web Graphics,” for more information on raster and vector graphics), and they do not have the same modification properties as vector objects, such as geometric and typographic objects created in LiveMotion.

  • Typographic objects— Also known as text objects, these are any objects created with LiveMotion's own Type tool (see Figure 1.3).
