A Concept, a Plan, a Script

So how is a rich experience of this nature executed? Because multimedia presentations can be complex, it is the designer's responsibility to innovate, plan, and blueprint a presentation. I like to approach multimedia using three key ideas: concept, plan, and script.

Goal and Vision

The concept is the combined goal and creative vision of the presentation. For the examples in this hour, I decided to create a small multimedia tribute to the Jazz musician Miles Davis (see Figure 19.1). My goal was to introduce basic facts about Davis—a compelling man, hugely influential musician, and talented visual artist. I was certain I would have enough diverse media with which to create my example.
