Editing Objects

There are several ways to edit objects that you'll want to be familiar with as you work to combine and create more detailed compositions. LiveMotion allows you to modify objects in several ways:

  • Duplicating— If you want to create an exact duplicate of an object, you can use this feature to do so.

  • Making an alias— This feature creates a duplicate but links it to the original so that if you make a change to either object, the change updates both objects.

  • Copying— You can copy an object to the Clipboard to later paste it as a copy into your current composition, into another composition, or into another application completely.

  • Cutting— Cutting allows you to remove an object to the Clipboard, where it can later be returned to the current composition, to another composition, or to a composition in another application.

  • Pasting— Use the Paste command whenever you want to take what's on the Clipboard and paste it into any available composition.

  • Using Paste Special— This powerful command lets you paste specific aspects of an object in specific ways, including image, texture, active matte, layer, transformations, fill, effects, and properties.
