Hour 23. Adding Scripts > Learning About State Scripts

Learning About State Scripts

The term state refers, in programming, to a particular point in a process. You're already familiar with the idea of states—you learned about them in Hour 13, “Image Mapping and Rollover Techniques,” and Hour 14, “Creating Remote Rollovers,” when working with rollovers and remote rollovers.

With rollovers, state refers to the points in time that an event takes place, such as with mouse input: normal, over, down, and out. There are also custom states, which you created in Hour 14 when designing remote rollovers.
