Understanding Event Handlers

Events handlers are a very important part of scripting. Event handlers manage specific responses from a person's input via the mouse or keyboard. Event handlers are important not only for the way scripting is handled in LiveMotion, but also for scripting Web documents directly. In LiveMotion, event handlers are used in specific conjunction with movie clips.

Working with Event Handlers

The idea is to take a script (such as an image swap for rollovers) and attach it to specific user input. In the case of LiveMotion there are various available event handlers. Table 23.1 shows a selected set of event handlers available and what their distinct input is.
