Modifiers and Controllers

There are several modifiers and controllers in 3ds max that you can use to implement the principles of animation.

Modifiers

Modifiers are designed to be applied to mesh objects. Usually (but not always), you'll apply these modifiers to non-skinned objects. These would include the head and any ancillary objects, such as a hat or antennae.
