Summary

For many users new to 3ds max 7, the complexity of the animation you just created would have been much too difficult to animate by a hand with any convincing results.

By using Reactor, the burden of keeping track of all the deformations and interactions between bodies is handled efficiently by the tools. It's usually best to create small segments of animation using the Reactor and commit them to keyframes before moving on to the next segment. This reduces the overhead of the calculations and gives you more flexibility in editing should something go wrong.
