Chapter 19. Particle Flow: A System for ... > Setting up a Default Particle Flow S...

Setting up a Default Particle Flow System

The first step in creating a particle system is to place a Particle Flow source in the scene that will emit the initial particles and to open the Particle View dialog to see the structure and the wiring of the default system.

The Particle View dialog makes the creation of complex particle systems much more manageable by providing you with an overall view of the variables contained in individual events that can be wired together to produce the end result. Individual operators or whole events can be removed or simply disabled to allow easy experimentation while you are designing a particle system or to provide a method of “backward engineering” of existing particle systems.
