Using Mapping Coordinates on Lofted Objects

Applying UVW Map modifiers to objects to control mapping coordinates is one method of resizing patterns on most objects. Lofted objects, however, generate their own mapping coordinates along the length of the loft path and around the loft shape. In the next exercise, you'll learn to calculate the length of the path and the shape and to apply those values to the length-and-width repeat of the pattern. Lofted mapping coordinates are especially powerful because they follow the curvature of the path. If you edit the path, the maps will change accordingly.
