In This Chapter

So far in the book, you have learned to apply materials to objects with maps as patterns that don't have any specific size associated with them. Granted, you have changed the size parameters of some of the maps, but just to “eyeball” the pattern and until it looked right. For example, you changed the size of the Smoke map that you had applied as a Bump map on the landscape to make the pattern larger.

In the previous chapter, you also applied a UVW Map modifier to the landscape so that the graphics on the runway fit precisely. The UVW Map modifier adjusted itself to the extents of the landscape object so that the map fit exactly within those boundaries.
