Lesson 5. Working with Filters and Masks > Choosing Complementary Colors

Choosing Complementary Colors

Your goal in this exercise is to select a complementary color for the second watch object. What is a complementary color? Complementary colors come in pairs that are located directly across from each other on the color wheel. All complementary color pairs contain one primary and one secondary color.

Together, each primary pair uses all three primary colors, yet the two elements contrast because they share no common color. At the most basic level, complementary color pairs are red and green, yellow and purple, and blue and orange.
