Lesson 9. Working with Audio and Keyfram... > Applying a Fade to the Upper Object

Applying a Fade to the Upper Object

You've finished moving and resizing all of project elements in the Timeline. Now let's apply a Fade In/Fade Out behavior to the USFPG logo object to create a 1-second (30 frame) fade-out at the end of the clip. The USFPG logo overlaps the 22A logo by 1 second, so you'll be able to use the fade to see both objects at the same time.

1.
In the Timeline, select the USFPG logo clip; then click the Add Behavior icon in the toolbar and select Basic Motion > Fade In/Fade Out from the pop-up menu.

A purple Fade In/Fade Out region appears below the USFPG logo clip in the Timeline.

2.
Press D to open the Fade In/Fade Out Dashboard; then drag the parameters in the Dashboard so the Fade In value is 0 frames and the Fade Out value is 30 frames.

3.
Move the playhead to 5;15 in the Timeline to see both objects simul taneously.

The 5;15 position is halfway through the 1-second fade, so the upper clip is at 50 percent opacity, allowing you to see both logos at the same time.

4.
Press Cmd-S to save your progress.
