Applying Filters to Masks

Just as with shapes and other objects, you can apply filters to masks. The thing to keep in mind is that the filter is being applied to the alpha channel—the grayscale image that determines levels of transparency—and not to the object itself. Therefore the filter affects the grayscale mask, not the object (Figure 12.35).
