Adding Audio

You can add many different types of audio files to Motion, including AIFF, WAV, MP3, AAC, and QuickTime audio (MOV). Motion supports sample rates up to 48 KHz, and bit depths up to 24 bits. When you add an audio file, Motion converts the file based on its own internal format of 44.1 KHz and 16 bits for built-in audio (CD quality).

When you add QuickTime movies to Motion, the audio and video components are both added by default, but you can override this behavior to add just the audio (see the last tip on the next page for how to do this).
