Setting Keyframes

The simplest way to set keyframes with Motion is to use the Record Animation button, located with the transport controls at the bottom of the Canvas. With the Record Animation button, you can set keyframes in the Canvas, the Dashboard, or the Inspector. The Inspector also provides an alternate method for setting keyframes and provides some additional controls.

Setting keyframes in the Canvas

The quickest and easiest way to keyframe an object’s Transform parameters (Position, Rotation, Scale, Shear, and Anchor Point) is to manipulate them directly in the Canvas while the Record button is activated. You can also keyframe the Drop Shadow, Four Corner, and Crop parameters in the Canvas. For information on making transformations in the Canvas, see Chapter 4.
