Lesson 5. Particles and Parameter Behaviors > Putting English on the Ball

Putting English on the Ball

Currently the butterflies fly outward in a smooth, straight motion. But if you look carefully, you'll notice that they are all moving at the same angle. It's true that they rotate as they fly, but that's because the butterfly rotates in the original movie clip we used for the particles (that is, the rotation is built into the animation). To add more individuality to each butterfly, we'll apply a custom rotation to the particles.

About a third of the way down the Emitter tab of the Inspector you'll notice four parameters with rotation dials. You can quickly set angles by adjusting the dials with your pointer.
